Notice 1
All materials that are 2 days overdue will receive an email or SMS notice. Fines begin at this time.
Notice 2
All materials that are 6 days overdue will receive a phone call, email, and SMS notice. Fines continue to accrue.
Notice 3
All materials that are 10 days overdue will receive an email and written noticed mailed to the address provided for the Adult Guarantor. At this time the patron’s household account is frozen.
Past Notice 3
If materials have not been returned, 14 days from the written notice being mailed, the full replacement cost of the overdue materials will be charged to the Adult Guarantor. Collection attempts will be turned over to a collection agency or the sheriff’s department. The households account will remain frozen until all fines and fees are paid.
Further Explanation
- The library director does reserve the right to use discretion to write-off or decrease fines.
- All notices are a courtesy and not required to be given by the library.
- Notices pertain to all categories of patrons, i.e. adult guarantor, teens, children, nonresident, etc.
- If an adult guarantee patron opts out of notifications via email or SMS or if the patron’s contact information has changed, then the library is not at fault for notices not being received.
